These notes are to collect how-to knowledge for different volunteer roles at Reach Church, as well as document important points to hit when teaching new volunteers.

The goal is to always learn and improve, operate in your gifts, while being able to participate & engage in services.

Volunteer Types

Having tools is one thing, but comfort working with them comes with practice. That lets you be intentional and chase goals, instead of just chasing problems.

1. Operators - trained end to end, from startup to shutdown for their station. They know everything needed to handle what is expected to happen during the service.
2. Troubleshooters – knows what resources & possibilities are available, and can adapt to change, problems or "out of the norm" circumstances like:
   1. on the fly Bible verses, lighting tweaks, or adding last minute slides on media
   2. incorporating & routing a new instrument on sound
   3. loading in the camera preset after a power outage, or handling complaints from viewers about framing/graphic overlays, or quiet audio on livestream
3. Directors/Overseers - strive for consistency and excellence across the board. Can "double check" behind each of the roles and teach the hows & whys. Able to communicate, make decisions & set goals.
